If you love swimming and team sports, you’ll love water polo. Come learn, play, meet the team and discover one of the most exciting sports in the pool.

Kelowna Water Polo Club free August 2026 tryouts. Dates are August 18, 19, 25 and 26. Ages 12 and under attend from 5:00 to 5:45 PM. Ages 13 to 15 attend from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.

Turn a love of swimming into a love of team sport

Water polo combines swimming, ball skills, movement and teamwork. It’s a fun next step for young swimmers who want a new challenge, a supportive team environment and plenty of action in the pool. New players will learn the basics from experienced Kelowna Water Polo Club coaches through games, skills and simple team activities.

Your first session

What to expect

A friendly welcome: Our coaches will introduce the pool, the group and the basic rules.

Fun skill activities: Participants will practise moving with the ball, passing, shooting and playing together.

Support for beginners: No previous water polo experience is required.

Water polo equipment is provided.

Swimming readiness: Participants should be comfortable swimming one full pool length without assistance. A coach can help if you are unsure which group is the best fit.
