The second Kelowna Classic Lake Water Polo Tournament will take place on July 13th & 14th 2024.

Tournament Information

Who can play?

This is an inclusive co-ed tournament for 13U, 15U, 18U and Coed Adult Rec players.

We are a community & developmental club and this summer tournament will be reflection of this.

Teams and individiaul players will be able to register in 2024.

Location - City Park, Kelowna

Water polo will take place at Okanagan Lake at the beautiful City Park in Kelowna.

Parking can be found in the City Park parking lot at 1600 Abbott St, Kelowna, BC where you can use the PayByPhone app if you have it installed.

Accommodation

Kelowna is busy in July so booking accommodation early is important. We have listed some options here - Kelowna Classic Accomodation.

Q&A

Can I wear a wetsuit? 
Absolutely. If you think you will be a bit chilliy in the lake then lake (did we mention it gets up to 25 celsius or more) then wearing a wetsuit is a great option.

What should I bring to the tournament?
As well as the regular snacks, water and towel we will be outside in the sunshine so some shade, chairs and perhaps even a cooler would be a great idea.

What happens if there is bad weather?
In the event of rain we will continue to play but if there is thunder or lightning we will need to stop games for safety reasons.

How long will the games be?
2024 will be our second year running the tournament. We will be making up teams and deciding game length based upon the number of registrations. We will aim to give each team 4 games.

Can I play up?
If you have played up an age group in your club then please drop us an e-mail after you have registered. We will prioritise players in each age group but there will likely be opportunities to play in more than one age group.

Out-of-Province Athletes

If you are not registerd with Water Polo West as a water polo athlete in BC but are registered with Water Polo Canada in any other province then please e-mail  . We will send instructions on how to register.

International Players
